Who We Are
Rugby NY was formed in 2010 after a meeting of youth and high school rugby stakeholders from across New York whose mission is to teach the concepts of fair play, sportsmanship, camaraderie, and boys and girls in grades K-12 across New York State through the sport of rugby.
We are recognized by USA Rugby as the state based rugby orgainzation ("SBRO") responsible for administering youth and high school rugby
Rugby NY is responsible for staging the annual NY State High School Champioships and providing resources and programming for players, coaches, referees, educators and parents.
Our goal is to provide every school age boy and girl the opportunity to play the fastest growing team sport in America and to expand the number of teams and participants playing rugby across New York State.
Governance
Youth Rugby NY, Inc. is a not-for-profit Corporation as defined in subparagraph (a)(5) of section 102 of Not-for-Profit Corporation Law of the State of New York and a Type B corporation as defined in Section 201 of Not-for-Profit Corporation Law of the State of New York. We are recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)3 non-profit.

Rugby NY Board of Directors
Youth Rugby NY is managed by a seven (7) member Board of Directors who are responsible for planning and development of the organization. The corporation is managed by an Executive Committee comprised of the corporate officers: President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.
In addition, RugbyNY has a paid Youth Development Officer (YDO) who is charged with creating and developing youth and high school programs across the state.
In addition to the Executive Committee there are four standing committees responsible for developing policy and procedures
